Overview
WhatsApp Project & Tasks keeps project assignees in the loop over WhatsApp, so the team gets notified the moment a task is created, picked up, or closed — without anyone having to remember to message them.
Built by TechUltra Solutions, the module ties WhatsApp templates to project task stages. When a task moves between stages in Odoo, the matching template is sent to the assignee's WhatsApp number through Meta's official Cloud API. A manual Send Task by WhatsApp button on the task form lets a manager push an update on demand.
Delivery status (sent, delivered, read) appears in Odoo's chatter and Discuss interface, and the module is compatible with Odoo 12 through 19 alongside TechUltra's WhatsApp Base connector.

Setup & configuration
From install to first call — here is the path.

Install the module
In Odoo, open Apps, remove the Apps filter, search for “WhatsApp Project & Tasks”, and click Install. The TechUltra WhatsApp Base connector is installed automatically as a dependency.

Connect Meta WhatsApp Cloud API
In the TechUltra WhatsApp Base configuration, link your Meta WhatsApp Business Account by entering the App ID, App Secret, Phone Number ID, and permanent access token from the Meta developer dashboard.

Bind templates to task stages
Go to Project → Configuration → Task Stages, open each stage, and pick the WhatsApp template to send when a task moves into that stage.

Create and assign tasks
Go to Project → My Tasks → New, add a title, project, and assignee, and save. Stage-change notifications start firing as soon as the task moves.

Send a manual update
Open any task and click Send Task by WhatsApp. Pick the template and send — useful for nudges or ad-hoc clarifications outside the stage flow.
