Odoo Gold Partner — Odoo 20
Odoo 20 Implementation Services
Start on the current release. Odoo 20 was presented on 24 September 2026 and brings AI agents that run on triggers, an MCP server for outside AI assistants, accounting automation, multi-company inventory and a lower-priced Light User licence. We implement Odoo 20 for new teams and move Odoo 15–19 systems onto it, at a fixed price agreed after a one-week discovery.

The consultant who scopes your project is the consultant who runs it. There is no handover from a salesperson to a delivery team after you sign — the part of an ERP engagement that most often goes wrong.

What is different about implementing on Odoo 20?
Three things change the plan compared with Odoo 19. First, licensing: Odoo 20 introduces the Light User, a limited licence (₹195 per user per month on Odoo's Indian price list, US$8.90 in the United States) for staff who only log time off, expenses, attendance, shop-floor or barcode screens, so the user count that drives your subscription is worth re-modelling before you buy. Second, finance: matching rules, bill line prediction, bank consistency checks and paying vendor bills from Odoo turn month-end into reviewing exceptions, but only if the rules are configured against your real bank and supplier data during the build. Third, AI: agents now run from automated and scheduled actions and leave an auditable chat, and a native MCP server lets outside assistants reach Odoo, which means permissions and approval steps become part of the implementation scope rather than an afterthought. TechUltra Solutions has been an Odoo Gold Partner since 2021 and has delivered more than 400 Odoo projects since 2016.
What's included
-
Odoo 20 fit assessment
Process map, current-system audit and a written note on which Odoo 20 changes matter for your team — the accounting automation, the multi-company stock flows, the AI agents — rather than a generic feature list.
-
Licence modelling, including Light Users
We split your headcount into full users and Light Users (time off, expenses, attendance, shop floor, barcode, field service) before you order, so you buy the licence mix Odoo 20 now allows instead of a full seat for everyone.
-
Accounting automation set up on real data
Matching rules, bill line prediction, bank-transaction consistency and bill payment from Odoo configured against your bank feeds and supplier history, then tested through a full month-end on the test system.
-
AI agents with approvals
Agents that run on automated and scheduled actions, limited to each user's permissions and set to ask before saving. Every run leaves an auditable chat your finance or operations lead can review.
-
MCP connection, if you want one
Odoo 20 ships a native MCP server, so Claude, ChatGPT or an internal assistant can read and act in Odoo under a named user. We scope which tools it exposes and to whom.
-
Multi-company inventory
Inter-company resupply routes, cross-company fulfilment and valuation that moves correctly between entities, configured for groups that run several companies on one database.
-
Data migration and integrations
Master data plus the transaction history you decide to keep, mapped field by field. Connectors to your e-commerce, CRM, payment and shipping tools rebuilt against Odoo 20's APIs.
-
Role-based training and 90-day hypercare
Training on the Odoo 20 screens each role will use, then 90 days of post-go-live support from the same team that built the system.

-
Discovery
1 weekOne-week review of your processes, current systems, data and headcount. Output: a written diagnostic, a risk register and the licence model (full users vs Light Users).
-
Blueprint
1 weekModule map, integration list, custom-development scope, data-migration plan, AI-agent and approval design, and a fixed-scope, fixed-price statement of work signed off before build.
-
Build on Odoo 20
6–12 weeksTwo-week sprints with weekly demos. The test system runs Odoo 20 from week one so finance sees matching rules and bill prediction working on their own data early.
-
User acceptance testing
2 weeksReal-data UAT including one full month-end and the AI-agent flows with approvals. Sign-off checklist per role.
-
Go-live
1 weekendCutover with a rehearsed rollback plan and 72 hours of on-call cover immediately after.
-
Hypercare and handoff
90 days90 days of dedicated post-launch support, including any Odoo 20 point releases that land during stabilisation.
Typical timeline
A standard Odoo 20 implementation runs 8–16 weeks from kickoff to go-live: one week of discovery, one week of blueprint, 6–12 weeks of build, two weeks of UAT, a cutover weekend, then 90 days of hypercare. Moving an existing Odoo 15–19 system onto 20 instead of starting fresh is an upgrade project: 4–8 weeks for a short hop from 18 or 19, 8–14 weeks for longer jumps or heavily customised instances. See the Odoo 20 upgrade service for that path.
What affects the price
Every engagement is fixed-scope after a one-week discovery. These are the levers that move a quote up or down.
-
Scope and module count
A 3-module start (Sales, Inventory, Accounting) is a smaller project than an ERP-wide rollout with Manufacturing, HR and Field Service. We quote a fixed price after the one-week discovery.
-
Licence mix
Odoo 20's Light User licence (₹195 per user per month in India, US$8.90 in the US, on Odoo's price lists) covers staff who only need time off, expenses, attendance, shop-floor, barcode or field-service screens. Modelling who needs a full seat is part of discovery and changes the subscription more than anything we charge.
-
Accounting automation depth
Matching rules and bill line prediction are configured per bank account and supplier pattern. More banks, entities and currencies mean more rules to set and test through a month-end.
-
AI agents and approvals
Each agent needs a trigger, a permission scope and an approval step. A handful of well-chosen agents is quick; agent-per-process designs take longer to test safely.
-
Integrations and data history
Each third-party connector is roughly 1–3 weeks. Migrating master data plus 12 months of transactions is fast; five years of reconcilable history adds 2–4 weeks.
-
Number of companies and countries
Multi-company inventory and consolidated reporting are stronger in Odoo 20, but each legal entity still adds localisation (tax, e-invoicing, statutory reports) and 1–2 weeks.
Who this is for
Companies choosing Odoo now, who should start on the current release rather than 19; finance teams for whom month-end matching and bill handling are the reason to change systems; groups running several companies on one database; and HR-heavy or shop-floor-heavy businesses where the Light User licence changes the economics of putting everyone in the ERP. If you are already live on Odoo 15–19, the [Odoo 20 upgrade](/services/odoo-upgrade/odoo-20) is the right service; if your scope is small and clearly defined, an [Odoo Success Pack](/services/odoo-success-pack) gives you a fixed block of hours instead.
Why TechUltra for Odoo 20 Implementation
-
Odoo Gold Partner since 2021, 400+ projects
Odoo re-audits Gold status every year against sales, certification and retention thresholds. We publish 101 enterprise implementations as checkable references on Odoo's own partner directory.
-
We publish what Odoo 20 actually changed
Our team counted 637 new features across 55 apps from the Odoo 20 source code and a live database, and wrote them up area by area. The implementation plan is built from that list, not from the launch keynote.
-
Fixed price after discovery, written scope you keep
Discovery produces the process map, integration list and migration plan as documents you own. Take them to another partner if you prefer; the price we quote against them is fixed.
-
AI set up to be reviewable
Agents are scoped to a user's permissions and set to ask before saving. We hand over the audit trail, not a black box.

Frequently asked questions
-
Should a new project start on Odoo 20 or Odoo 19?
Odoo 20. It has been the current release since 24 September 2026 (generally available from mid-October 2026), and Odoo's Enterprise agreement covers the three newest versions at the normal price, so starting on 19 only brings the next upgrade forward. Odoo 19 remains a sound release for teams already live on it; see our Odoo 19 implementation page for what it offers and the path to 20.
-
How long does an Odoo 20 implementation take?
8–16 weeks from kickoff to go-live for a mid-market team: one week of discovery, one of blueprint, 6–12 weeks of build, two weeks of UAT and a cutover weekend, followed by 90 days of hypercare. Multi-company or multi-country rollouts are phased and run longer.
-
How much does an Odoo 20 implementation cost?
We do not work from a price list. A one-week discovery maps your processes, integrations and licence mix and ends with a fixed price, so the number you sign is the number you pay. The subscription itself is set by Odoo: in India, Standard is ₹725 and Custom ₹1,350 per user per month on yearly billing (first-year discount to ₹580 and ₹1,080 for initial users), with Light Users at ₹195, per odoo.com/pricing on 22 October 2026. Other countries have their own list prices.
-
What is a Light User in Odoo 20, and who qualifies?
A lower-priced licence for employees who only use a limited set of screens: My Time Off, My Expenses, My Attendances, payslips, Point of Sale, the Manufacturing shop floor, Inventory barcode operations, Field Service and read-only Knowledge. Anyone who needs Sales, Purchase, CRM, Project, Accounting or Invoicing needs a full user. We model the split during discovery so you order the right mix.
-
Are Odoo 20's AI agents safe to run on company data?
They are built to be. Agents search, create and update records only within the permissions of the user they run as, and by default they do not save anything without approval. Every run leaves a readable chat. We configure the triggers, the permission scope and the approval step for each agent, and we keep the MCP connection off unless you decide to use it.
-
We are on Odoo 17. Is that an implementation or an upgrade?
An upgrade. Your data moves through each version in order (17 to 18, 18 to 19, 19 to 20) as one project, custom modules are ported, and you test the final result on a private test system. It usually matters now: Odoo's agreement adds a 25% fee to the annual subscription for versions outside the three newest, from late March 2027 for Odoo 17 and already for 16 and older. See the Odoo 20 upgrade service.
-
Does Odoo 20 change hosting requirements?
Odoo 20 runs on Odoo Online, Odoo.sh and on-premise. AI agents and MCP are available on Odoo's hosted plans and self-hosted Enterprise alike; we help you pick based on data residency, cost and how much operations work you want to own.
-
Which Odoo 20 features matter most for a mid-market company?
For most finance teams, the accounting automation: matching rules, bill line prediction, bank consistency and paying bills from Odoo. For groups with several legal entities, the multi-company inventory flows. For manufacturers, Kanban and Gantt planning for work orders. We rank them for your business during discovery; the full list is on our Odoo 20 features guide.
