AI solution
AI answering customers is a governance question first.
An agent that replies to customers is acting on your behalf, in public, at volume. What it may say and what it may do are separate decisions.

WhatsApp is where AI in Odoo becomes customer-facing, which changes the risk. A wrong answer in a report is an internal problem; a wrong answer to a customer is not.
So the configuration work is mostly about boundaries — what the agent can see, what it can commit to, and where the handover to a human sits. The messaging integration itself is well-trodden.

Is it safe to let AI reply to customers on WhatsApp?
It is safe when the boundaries are explicit. A wrong answer in an internal report is a nuisance; a wrong answer to a customer is a commitment made in public. What the agent may see, what it may promise, and where it hands to a human are three separate decisions to make before launch.

What can a WhatsApp AI agent actually do in Odoo?
As much or as little as its configured topics and record permissions allow. Reading order status is low risk; creating an order, changing a price or confirming a delivery date are commitments. Each capability is granted deliberately rather than inherited from an admin account.

Does this need Odoo 19 Enterprise?
For Odoo's native AI agents, yes — every native AI feature is Enterprise-only and arrived in Odoo 19. Our WhatsApp integration itself runs on earlier versions, but the agent layer on top of it is what requires the upgrade.
