Overview

WhatsApp for POS adds an official WhatsApp Cloud API channel to the Odoo Point of Sale. Once a POS order is validated, the cashier taps Send by WhatsApp and the receipt — plus any configured attachment — lands directly in the customer's WhatsApp.

Built by TechUltra Solutions on Meta's official WhatsApp Cloud API, the module works across a wide span of Odoo versions, from 12.0 through 19.0, so it fits both legacy POS deployments and the current release.

Cashiers and managers can create, edit, remove, and delete WhatsApp numbers and campaigns, schedule messages, configure different WhatsApp templates per scenario, and review the full WhatsApp message history from inside Odoo. The POS WhatsApp Composer surfaces all of this in the POS UI, so the receipt-send step stays a single click on the closing screen.

Setup & configuration

From install to first call — here is the path.

    Install the module

    In Odoo, open Apps, remove the Apps filter, search for “WhatsApp for POS”, and click Install. The module depends on Point of Sale, Inventory, Invoicing, Discuss, and TechUltra's WhatsApp base integration.

    Set up the Meta WhatsApp Cloud API

    In Meta for Developers, register a WhatsApp Business app, attach a phone number, and generate a permanent access token. TechUltra also offers an Odoo X Meta account setup service if you would rather hand this step off.

    Connect Odoo to your WhatsApp Business number

    Under the WhatsApp configuration in Odoo, add a provider with the phone number ID, business account ID, and access token. Confirm the test message lands on your phone before going live.

    Configure POS WhatsApp templates

    Build the WhatsApp templates you want to use from POS — receipts, order confirmations, follow-ups — and link them to the right POS scenario.

    Send your first WhatsApp receipt

    Open Point of Sale, create and validate an order, then click Send by WhatsApp. The POS WhatsApp Composer opens — pick a template, confirm the message, and the receipt lands on the customer's WhatsApp.
