Overview
Universal Attachment Preview extends Odoo's standard chatter so attachments open in place instead of downloading. Click a file in the chatter and it appears in a modal viewer.
Built by TechUltra Solutions, the module previews a wide set of file types: PDFs, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, OpenDocument formats such as ODT and ODS, plus images, video, and audio. Office documents render through online viewers — Microsoft Office Online or the Google Docs Viewer.
The preview works across every model where attachments exist, so any record in Odoo gets the same in-app viewing. Skipping the download step for a quick look keeps daily work faster and removes the need for external apps just to read a file.

In Odoo, open Apps, remove the Apps filter, search for “Universal Attachment Preview”, and click Install.

Decide whether Office documents should render through Microsoft Office Online or the Google Docs Viewer, based on your security policy.

Open a record with attachments
Go to any Odoo record that has files in its chatter — sales orders, projects, HR records, or custom modules.
