Overview
The Odoo chatter keeps a running log of every record's history — messages, status changes, and tracked field updates. By default, users can edit or delete their own log notes, which means an audit trail can be changed after the fact. Restrict Chatter Edit & Delete closes that gap.
Built by TechUltra Solutions, the module adds a per-user setting that hides the edit and delete actions on chatter messages. For a restricted user, log notes become read-only as soon as they are posted: the note stays exactly as written, and there is no option to change or remove it.
The restriction is applied per user, so you decide who is locked down and who keeps full control. Restricted users can still read the chatter and post new messages — only the ability to alter or delete existing notes is removed. The result is a dependable communication record for auditing, reporting, and compliance.

Setup & configuration
From install to first call — here is the path.

Install the module
In Odoo, open Apps, remove the Apps filter, search for “Restrict Chatter Edit and Delete”, and click Install.

Open the user record
Go to Settings → Users & Companies → Users and open the user you want to restrict.

Enable the chatter restriction
Scroll down the user form to the chatter restriction option added by the module and turn it on for that user.

Repeat for other users
Apply the restriction to every user who should not be able to edit or delete chatter log notes; leave it off for users who keep full control.

Verify the chatter
Log in as a restricted user, open any record, and confirm the edit and delete actions are no longer shown on log notes.
