Overview

Repair Order Report Secure ZIP gives service and after-sales teams a true bulk export for Odoo repair documentation. Pick the repair orders you need, hit one button, and Odoo packages every QWeb-generated PDF into a single compressed file — no more right-clicking through dozens of records.

Built by TechUltra Solutions, the module adds an Export Repair Orders action to the Repair Orders tree view and the server-actions menu. The wizard offers an optional password field, so workshop reports containing customer data, warranty notes, and parts pricing can be shipped securely to managers, suppliers, or auditors.

Because the export reuses Odoo's existing QWeb templates, every PDF inside the ZIP matches what a single repair order produces on screen — same layout, same fields, same branding — with the added benefit of one file to attach instead of many.

Setup & configuration

From install to first call — here is the path.

    Install the module

    In Odoo, open Apps, remove the Apps filter, search for “Repair Order Report ZIP Export with Password Protection”, and click Install.

    Enable the export field on your user

    Open Settings → Users, edit the users who need access, tick the Export Repair Order field, then refresh the page so the new button loads.

    Find the export action

    Open Repairs → Orders. With the field enabled, an Export Repair Orders button appears in the tree-view toolbar and in the standard server-actions menu.

    Select records and launch the wizard

    Tick the repair orders you want to bundle, click Export Repair Orders, and the wizard displays the selected records for confirmation.

    Set a password (or skip) and export

    Enter a value in the ZIP Password field to lock the archive, or leave it blank for an unprotected ZIP. Click Export Repair Orders Zip — Odoo bundles every QWeb PDF and downloads the archive.

    Open the archive

    On the desktop, any standard ZIP tool prompts for the password (if set) and extracts the bundled repair-order PDFs for review or distribution.

  • Which Odoo versions does this module support?

    The module supports Odoo 14.0, 15.0, 16.0, 17.0, 18.0, and 19.0 in both the Community and Enterprise editions.

  • What document does the ZIP contain?

    Each archive contains the standard Odoo QWeb-generated PDF for every selected repair order, so the bundled output matches what a single record produces on screen.

  • Is password protection mandatory?

    No. The ZIP Password field in the export wizard is optional. Leave it blank for an unprotected archive, or enter a value to lock the ZIP before download.

  • Where does the export button appear?

    Once the Export Repair Order field is enabled on your user, the button shows up in the Repair Orders tree view and in Odoo's standard server-actions menu — no menu customization required.

  • Why don't I see the export button after installing?

    The action is gated by the per-user Export Repair Order field under Settings → Users. Tick it on the relevant users and refresh the page — the button will appear in the tree view immediately.

  • Does the module support repair flows tied to sales and inventory?

    Yes. The module depends on the standard Repairs, Sales, Inventory, and Invoicing apps, so it works with the full Odoo repair flow — including parts movements and invoicing — without changing any existing logic.

  • How do I open a password-protected ZIP file?

    Any ZIP tool that supports password-protected archives — including the built-in extractors on Windows 11 and the standard utilities on macOS and Linux — will prompt for the password before unpacking the PDFs.
