Shared base module for TechUltra's AI-powered OCR document extraction in Odoo.
Overview
Odoo OCR AI Base is the groundwork for TechUltra's Odoo OCR Using AI modules. It is not a standalone tool: it carries the plumbing every document module shares, so the invoice, purchase-order, and sale-order add-ons stay small and consistent.
Built by TechUltra Solutions, the base module adds the OCR AI Integration settings to Odoo — the per-company authentication token, the OCR server URL, and the model-configuration screens that map extracted fields onto Odoo records. Installing any document module pulls this base in automatically as a dependency.
Document extraction itself runs through TechUltra's AI OCR service, which reads PDF and image files into structured data. The service is metered with OCR tokens bought separately from ai.fynix.app; the base module and the document modules are free on the Odoo App Store.

Setup & configuration
From install to first call — here is the path.

Install the module
In Odoo, open Apps, remove the Apps filter, search for “Odoo OCR AI Base”, and click Install. It also installs automatically with any OCR document module.

Create an OCR AI account
Register at ai.fynix.app and copy your authentication key from the OCR dashboard. This key links Odoo to the OCR extraction service.

Enable developer mode
Turn on developer mode in Odoo so the OCR AI Integration settings and model-configuration screens are visible.

Enter the authentication token
Go to Settings → OCR AI Integration, enter the company authentication token, and set the server URL to https://ai.fynix.app/tus_ocr_api.

Add a document module
Install at least one Odoo OCR Using AI module — Invoices & Bills, Purchase Orders, or Sale Orders — to start extracting documents into Odoo records.

What does Odoo OCR AI Base do on its own?
On its own it does not extract documents. It provides the OCR service connection, authentication token, server settings, and field-mapping engine that the OCR document modules depend on.

Do I need to install this module separately?
Usually not. Installing any Odoo OCR Using AI document module — invoices, purchase orders, or sale orders — pulls the base module in automatically as a dependency.

OCR tokens meter the AI extraction service. They are purchased from ai.fynix.app — for example, 2 million tokens for $20 — and are consumed when documents are processed.
